Last weekend, our friends Russell and Tara got married in beautiful La Jolla, California and we were lucky enough to be able to attend! This was only my second time visiting and I can already say San Diego is one of my favorite U.S. cities, if not my favorite. The weather is unbeatable and the beaches, shops, restaurants and nearby cities/attractions make it the perfect weekend getaway.
John and I stayed at an Air B&B right there in La Jolla in an area called Bird Rock, just a few minutes from the beach. Our bed and breakfast was walking distance to a few coffee shops/restaurants and we rented scooters for further spots like the beach and more food options.
In La Jolla, there are so many places to choose from when it comes to eating out, so I wanted to share the ones we went to that I loved!
Breakfast/Brunch
Cody’s La Jolla:
Seaside Surf Cafe:
The Cottage:
Fruittitude– shakes, smoothies + Acai bowls
Beumont’s– in Bird Rock; brunch spot with great food + cocktails
Java Earth Coffee– coffee, smoothies + breakfast/sandwiches
Lunch/Dinner
Promiscuous Fork- Walking distance to Windansea beach; tons of options- burgers, salmon bowls, quesadillas, sandwiches, etc.
Duke’s- right on the cove in La Jolla- beautiful views of the beach and great food
Lobster West – Coronado; I went here last year and had to go again- lobster, crab, shrimp and scallop rolls, lobster grilled cheese, soups and salads. Highly recommend!
While visiting, we went to the beach in La Jolla, stopped by shops + boutiques and visited Coronado Beach for the day.
Windansea Beach– the beach we stayed near
La Jolla Cove– visited the seals at the cove + walked along the pier
Day Trip to Coronado- Coronado has so many options including visiting the famous Del Coronado Hotel, walking along the beach, shopping, bike rentals and has tons of restaurants
The Wedding venue was held at the Darlington House in La Jolla
So gorgeous!
Another wonderful trip to San Diego! Thank you Tara and Russell for deciding to get married in such a beautiful location š We had such a great trip and looking forward to making another visit soon!
