San Diego has been on my list of places to travel to for a while, and I am so happy I was finally able to go. California is one of my favorite places; beaches, mountains, the city, the Golden state has it all. My friend Ariel recently moved here and as soon as she did, I immediately booked a flight to visit her! Ariel lives in such a great area; twenty minutes away from everything! Downtown, the bay, La Jolla, Mission Beach and Coronado are all under a half hour from her place so it was perfect. DOWNTOWN The first day, we went downtown for brunch and walked around enjoying…

STAYCATION: THE ADOLPHUS DALLAS
It’s no surprise that I love to travel, but that doesn’t always mean a boarding pass and a flight need to be involved. This past weekend, John and I stayed at The Adolphus in downtown Dallas to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing time. Staycations are like mini vacations, because you’re still getting the travel and hotel experience but in the comfort of your own city! FUN FACT: The Adolphus was the first Grand Hotel to be built in the heart of Dallas in 1912 and Buckingham Palace actually chose this hotel for the official state visit of Queen Elizabeth in 1991. No big deal. The first thing that…

WEEKEND IN WILMINGTON, NC
This past weekend, I visited North Carolina for the first time and it did not disappoint! Weddings, friends, sunshine, the beach, count me in. The first day was spent walking along the Riverwalk and checking out downtown Wilmington. We were staying near The Cotton Exchange the first night, which is an area full of shops and restaurants. We grabbed a bite at The Basics; Southern food and the best Pear Sangrias. While a few of our friends went to the rehearsal dinner, John and I went to the Intercostal and grabbed a drink at Fish House Grill. Patio seating right on the water, and the weather was perfect. The Groom’s…

PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO
Weddings are always a great time, but a wedding in a tropical place like Mexico is bound to be an AMAZING time. And it was. Jacy, one of my best friends from college, decided to have a destination wedding to Peurto Vallarta, Mexico. I have been to Mexico a few times in the past, but never to Puerto Vallarta. With everything going on in Mexico these days, I know I wasn’t the only person who felt a little uneasy about visiting. I talked to a few friends who had just visited, and they told me they felt completely safe during their trip. They were right. We stayed at the Hyatt…

CHARLESTON
I am always seeking my next adventure, and the holidays usually give everybody more free time to do so. Luckily, I had the weekend off during New Years’ this past year, so John and I decided to travel to a new city! John is a huge history buff and Charleston not only has that southern charm I’ve always wanted to experience, but the city is FULL of history. When I travel, I like to stay in the middle of the action, so I found the perfect place that did just that. We stayed at the Andrew Pinckney Inn, which was walking distance from shops, restaurants, and the ferry tour we…

HILL COUNTRY
Fredericksburg has always been on my bucket list and with it being just under 5 hours away from Dallas, I finally decided to visit! John luckily had two weeks off in between job changes, so this was a perfect time to go on a short road trip to a city nearby. As if I wasn’t already excited for the wineries, Chip and Jo’s famous Magnolia is on the way in Waco, so I had to make a stop. This fixer upper power couple just opened up their first restaurant, Magnolia Table, and we were lucky enough to visit on the day of their Grand Opening. The food was DELICIOUS. Lavender…
