PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO

Weddings are always a great time, but a wedding in a tropical place like Mexico is bound to be an AMAZING time. And it was.

Jacy, one of my best friends from college, decided to have a destination wedding to Peurto Vallarta, Mexico. I have been to Mexico a few times in the past, but never to Puerto Vallarta. With everything going on in Mexico these days, I know I wasn’t the only person who felt a little uneasy about visiting. I talked to a few friends who had just visited, and they told me they felt completely safe during their trip. They were right.

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva, an all-inclusive resort just 25 minutes from the airport. As soon as you walk into the lobby, you can see the ocean overlooking the hotel pool, with hills and mountains surrounding the resort. The views were beautiful! We had about an hour wait until our room was ready, so we headed straight to the buffet. Shortly after, we checked into our hotel room, which was oceanfront and absolutely stunning.

After admiring the views from our room, we immediately headed to the pool to meet the bride and groom, who had arrived the day before. The whole first day was spent relaxing at the pool or the beach, as it should be. Sunshine and unlimited Pina coladas, yes please.

Dinner was spent at a restaurant called Blaze. We had oceanfront seating and the sun was just beginning to set. At all-inclusive resorts like this, the food is normally just “okay,” but everything we tried was great- and very fresh! I ordered the flank steak, and I would definitely order it again.

Day two was spent by one of the three pools, and there were no set plans until the rehearsal dinner that night. After dinner, the girls and the guys split up. Us bridesmaids organized a lingerie party for Jacy in one of the girls’ rooms, then we met everyone else at the Tequila Bar to party afterwards.

Day three was WEDDING DAY! We spent our morning enjoying breakfast, soaking in the sun on the beach, and walking around the resort. It was our last full day to enjoy the scenery- so we did just that!

Jacy was the most beautiful bride ever! She was smiling the entire day and I have truly never seen her happier. The ceremony was right on the beach, and the reception was near one of the resort pools overlooking the ocean. It’s hard not to capture so many pictures when you are in a place like this! I was honored to be a part of her special day and to be able to share this weekend with her in such a beautiful city. I highly recommend visiting Puerto Vallarta, specifically Hyatt Ziva. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I would love to come back to visit. Thank you Jacy and Robert for inviting me on this unforgettable trip!
